Happy Ending To Case Of Disappearing Lifebuoy
Foyle Search and Rescue report safe return

Foyle Search and Rescue have appealed for people not to tamper with lifebuoys after another of the ringbuoys it has deployed along the River Foyle disappeared on Thursday.
A spokesperson for the charity said: "The lifebuoy was eventually located by the PSNI who returned the lifesaving device to its original location ensuring it could be used by members of the public when required.
"We would appeal to the public, if anyone observes these lifesaving devices being tampered with in anyway please notify the PSNI asap on the non-emergency number 101."
Read DerryNow's account here. We'd echo everything that FSR said... but add that ZiggyTec's 'SmartBuoy' IoT monitoring system, which is presently in use by councils in Ireland and the UK, is designed specifically to help prevent such tampering. Read more about SmartBuoy in this post.
